A successful product starts with research and planning.
Have you considered questions like:-
Where will the product will be used
Who will be using it
Will it comply to local safety standards
What is the design life and what warranty can be offered
What are the critical "must-have" features
Does the product have future proofing requirements
How will your product be distributed
How is the product marketed
What makes the product standout from other like products
What competitors are there and what do they know and do
What will user expect to pay for the product
Does the product pricing include margins for resellers
Packaging requirements
Could the product infringe on someone's patent
What design and product protection is required
How will the design, build, production and other cost be funded
What are the milestones
There's a lot to consider, but we can assist you to minimise the risk and unexpected surprises.

If your idea is for a one-off or a small quantity, we focus on using standard components and readily available enclosures to avoid design and product cost. This applies to prototypes, but once a product has been tested and ready to move to a production phase, the design of more cost-effective purpose made parts and assembly processes will be attended to in the product design.
It happens and for good many reasons.
One of these reasons is a realisation that the product can be enhanced.
In most cases, it will involve updating designs, particularly the further the design process has been completed and if a prototype build is under way. We may also need to order replacement parts to accommodate the changes.
We call this "Scope Creep" and as such, quotations and estimates will be updated.
Please note that parts no longer required and that have been ordered, supplied or fabricated will become surplus and remain part of the project supply. Return credits after cost may be available on standard parts if cost-effective to process. (Return cost include - Time to arrange, packaging, restocking fees by supplier, freight and admin / accounts)
At all times, we will keep you informed of progress and any matters that will need your approval.
Our quotes include a project administration and management fee that we would expect to be reasonable. If addition information or reporting is beyond what has been provisioned, then a variation to the project may be provided for your consideration and approval.
Invoices are issued for payment when:
Starting a particular phase of your project
Ordering parts and materials
Engaging subcontractors
The next phase of work is about to start.
Payment schedules are open for discussion before commencing your project.
Payments are required and held in advance for work to complete, cost of materials and contractors.
Sometimes a new product will work first off. However, the more complex the product design, expect some challenges. Plan for these events along with the associated cost and delays.
While we may offer suggestions to enhance the viability of your product, the level of success of your idea is in your control.
Your idea is your intellectual property. Any ideas that we offer you and that form part of the paid provided service to you are for you to use as required. All materials, drawings, circuits, PCB, research and other information that are created or obtained while completing your project become yours but excludes such information whereby the ownership is held by others.
The assignment of the above intellectual property is on full payment of all invoices associated with your project.
However, the copyrights and intellectual property that we own and may contribute to your project remain our property.
The production beyond a few products or prototypes is in your control. You may select local or oversea suppliers, however we will continue to support you throughout the product lifecycle.
Our projects are normally small in physical size, ranging from a jiffy box to a few cubic metres. But this is not always the case, so please contact us
We recommend a step-by-step process if your product is going to by produced in large quantities. This enables prototype products to be pretested and refined to avoid costly oversights and production issues.
Where possible, we will specify Australian made materials, parts and use local contractors to build your prototype or on limited product run.
Note : Electronic and mechanical devices are mostly produced overseas.
